Terra Nomad: The Paris Agreement is non-binding and allows countries to set their own goals for greenhouse gas emission reductions. There are no legal or financial penalties for not meeting the goal you set for your own country. This is a not a deal to be negotiated; it is a promise to the world that we actually care about climate change. There is no other place we can go to negotiate a better deal. However, there are countries like Russia that stand to benefit from climate change as holders of vast natural resources and very little temperate coastal land. It could not be plainer that this administration is a puppet and a front to sell the country and eventually the world to the highest bidding oligarch.
