Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men? It is the music of a people Who will not be slaves again!
However, as one Twitter user observed, Trump’s own pick for attorney general, Sen. Jeff Sessions, who is awaiting confirmation, had once advised Yates to defy a president’s orders “if the views the president wants to execute are unlawful.”
The tweet, showing Sessions’ advising Yates to do the very thing Trump just fired her for, has since gone viral.
During Yates’ 2015 confirmation hearing for deputy attorney general, Sessions told Yates, “You have to watch out because people will be asking you do things you just need to say no about.”
“Do you think the attorney general has the responsibility to say no to the president if he asks for something that’s improper?”
Sessions gave an example of then-President Obama nominating Loretta Lynch as the attorney general.
“A lot of people have defended the Lynch nomination, for example, by saying that ‘Well, he appoints someone who’s going to execute his views. What’s wrong with that?’ But if the views the president wants to execute are unlawful, should the attorney general say no?” Sessions asked Yates.
Yates responded, “Senator, I believe the attorney general or the deputy attorney general has the obligation to follow the law and the constitution and to give their independent legal advice.”
Sessions also told Yates that it “shouldn’t take you too long to say, ‘No, this isn’t right’” to the president.

OMFG, THE SHOOTER WASN’T AN IMMIGRANT OR A REFUGEE, HE WAS CALLED ALEX BISSONETTE, HE WAS WHITE, AND A FAR-RIGHT SUPPORTER OF LE PEN, THE PARTI QUEBECOIS, TRUMP, ETC.
White nationalists commit more terror attacks than any other group.
Literally, CSIS (Canada’s spy agency) says white supremacy is a worse threat than ‘radical islam’:
CSIS highlights white supremacist threat ahead of radical Islam
If you guys want to pretend you know everything about someone based on their name alone why didn’t you mention the name of the other shooter? Does it have anything to do with the fact that his name is Mohammad? Don’t pretend you care about what is and isn’t offensive and hurtful if you’re just going to turn around and call everyone a Nazi or a white supremecist. All you’re doing is race baiting further.
In fact he was a witness to the attack and gave first aid to victims of the shooting. The police thought he was a shooter, because he was seen leaving the mosque at the time they arrived.
Alex Bissonette was the only shooter.
Get your islamophobia out of here.
At this point, the jury is in: if you identify with ‘all lives matter’, you’re a shitty, broken person. You delight in the suffering of others.
Prague (by ken)
In the center of the bottom of this picture are three red roofs that slant. I bought a pastry from one of them and ate it in the cold. I talked to a woman from the U.K. who had come to Prague with her boyfriend. It is weird the kind of things you remember from 9 years ago.
You know what…
Take my $1.37… I want my PBS.
Take my $.46… I am all for federal funding of art programs.
Take my $.46… I love my museums, colleges, and libraries.
Take my $.11… I support developing minority businesses.
Take my $.66… I am for entrepreneurship and innovation.
Take my $1.60… I want us to export more goods overseas.
Take my $0.43… I would like to see more American manufacturing.
Take my $0.88… I think community policing needs vast improvement.
Take my $1.48… I support programs for women.
Take my $1.55… I believe in due process for all.
Take my $0.48… We need a civil rights division in the justice department.
Take my $0.38… I think we need to defend our Mother Earth.
Take my $0.03… I know more work needs to be done for climate change.
Take my $8.95… because we need more sustainable energy.
Take my $2.71… we should reduce our carbon footprint.
If saving these programs means I’m out $22.36 a year, I’m good with contributing my $.07 a day to save American jobs and these federal programs.
On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, let’s remember the indifference, hate, and fear the American public and State Department had for Jews trying to escape Europe.
Remember that in the 1920s, the American government began working to keep immigrant Jews out.
Remember Anne Frank would have lived if the State Department had approved Otto Frank’s desperate application for his family to join relatives in Massachusetts.
Remember the passengers of the St. Louis, who sailed across the Atlantic only to be turned away from every American harbor.
Remember the American public opinion polls that said even Jewish children posed a danger.
Remember that Jewish fundraising and awareness campaigns to rescue European Jews received no major public or governmental support.
Americans were not the heroes of the Holocaust. They were participants.
as was Australia:
Watch: The most wonderful moment of joy came when he entered a Nazi guard bungalow.
We are the last generation who can hear from these survivors directly. Do not take that lightly. Do not waste that opportunity. Do not forget your freedom isn’t infinitely guarenteed. And do not, do not, let it happen again.
The freedom to protest needs to be protected more than ever. (x)

THEY ARE SYSTEMATICALLY TAKING AWAY OUR RIGHTS & FREE SPEACH, IF THEY SUE THEN YOU SUE BACK. IF THEY FIGHT, FIGHTBACK.
I don’t know why every reporting of this takes away the important thing he said right before this.
He said “ we voted for you. WE VOTED FOR YOU. WE voted for YOU” with that style of emphasis. he wasnt just like “oh we’re gonna replace you in your seats”
The whole mood was “We trusted you and you FAILED us. And for that you have proved yourself unworthy of the chairs in which you sit.”
If these bills pass, then we must fight them in the courts and get every single one of them struck down as unconstitutional. We must fight. We must protest!
